Apostle of the Apostles

We've all heard the question, if a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it, does it make a sound? I want to ask a different question: if a savior dies for us and is resurrected, and no one proclaims it, is there salvation?

I think there is. God doesn't need people to proclaim God's work. But think about how much our own lives of faith are affected by the proclamation of this news.

How have our lives been affected when the news that is proclaimed is hijacked by one group of followers, who undermine the voice of the first person to proclaim the news.

What would our Church look like if the Gospel of Mary Magdalene became part of the canon of Scripture? While the male disciples bickered over control and power (for example, see Luke 9:46-50), Mary Magdalene and many other women quietly voiced the truth of their faith. They were present at the cross and at the tomb, but the men had run away in fear.

Mary was the first witness of Christ's resurrection and proclaimed her experience of reality--that Jesus had risen from the dead--to the men.

What is your truth of faith? And do you hear it proclaimed?
