According to Regina Linskey at the Catholic News Service, a Vatican statement issued today states, "a baptism administered 'in the name of the Creator, and of the Redeemer and of the Sanctifier' or formulas that do not say 'in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit' is not a baptism at all. If the baptism is invalid, so are the other sacraments the person may have received, such as matrimony."
I am intrigued by this quote, since it immediately calls into question the validity of lay people's marriages. If I'm not mistaken, it could also read "If the baptism is invalid, so are the other sacraments the person may have received, such as holy orders."

Yes, I believe I blogged about this, too, or maybe I just talked about it at the office. It was too much!
